You would check with your virus protection program, such as Norton, AVG, Avest or one of the many others. if have never had one on your computer, I'd be willing to bet it's loaded with virus's and has greatly damaged windows files. You need to either go to the store and buy a virus protection or download AVG which is a free virus protection.

Get Norton Antivirus, that's what I have and it works wonders!!! You can download it off the internet if you don't want to go and buy it at the store. You might also want to scan it for spyware, by buying something called Spyware sweeper, it's from the same brand at Norton and it also works wonders, if it keeps freezing up take it to the place where you bought it to get it checked, my computer kept doing that! Good luck!!! have a nice day!!!=)

sounds like a virus or other malware to me!! You use a program to find and eliminate or isolate the bad guys. Like Nortons Virus or a lot of others. You can get them free off of www.cnet.com You probably already have something like it on your system. If not, go get one! AVG is the best I have found, it has a free version

You probably have some anoying spyware on there. Contact a computer specialist, or get a new tower. If you have a spy bot that you purchased in a store, and didn't download try using that.
