Send out information packets (including description, annual reports, testimonials, etc.) to likely sponsors and donors, and follow up with a phone call. Put up signs or posters in local stores. Write up a few press releases about the organization and send them to the local newspapers. If there is community or public access cable network in your area, see what it takes to get a show on, or get invited on an existing show to describe the business. It takes a bit of time, but use of a multiplatorm strategy will give you the best chance at successfully raising awareness. Good luck!
