It is never too late to try new things, discover new things about oneself. What is too late is how to let others know within your family that you want to do different things and basically move from point A to point B. I want to live in a new state. Get a new job. Go to school. And no one else in the family seems to want to do anything but lay low and exist. Do I move on without them or do I try to convince them to come on? I am so tired of being tired of sitting still and basically doing the same things over and over again. What is one to do? Help.

Go for it-- You won't be sorry. Even if you make a few choices that aren't quite right you will learn something from the experience. The worst hing you could do is to sit still and wish that someone would want to feel as excited about trying new things as you. You may wait forever and always have regrets that you did nothing. Wait a minute-- your first line "is it to late to change someone after many years of being together?' do I detect your married and have a wife and children?? If that is the case-- you are wrong-- you need to take thier lives into consideration. If your married you made a commitment and if you have children are you just going to say "oh well-at least MY life won't be boring" That would be selfish--to expect everyone to change schools, friends, lifestyles everything because you want to escape your reality. If this is the case --what new and adventurous things can you find to do in or within a reasonable radius of where you live with your family? you could even pull your family closer together by opening their eyes to new situations with summer comming-- like camping, fishing, white water rafting, horseback riding, hot air balloon rides, canoeing, museams, cocerts in the parks. The list is endless of new things to try-- and they may be right under your nose!! If this is the case you could be the one to pull your family closer insted of pulling away. I'm not really sure of your situation but if your single--GO FOR IT!!! If your married--take your family into consideration and try to overcome the boredom so you can be happy also!!. Good Luck!!

You cannot change other people at all. As for the rest of what you are asking, I think you should at least take small steps in the direction you want to go. I say follow your dreams and try to convince them to come on. But when it comes down to it, you need to be true to yourself.

Even though you can't see the future you can predict. What do you think they will say to this? You have to make smart choices in life. If you have that kind of money then you may be able to get away with this. It's what you think is the important thing.
