Not having your basic life needs... i.e., oxygen, shelter, food... and most of these things (aside from the oxygen, which I just threw in there to be hyperbolic) tend to come along with money, so that's why poverty is generally being poor...

poverty means you have nothing..no home, no food or water, no job...and poor just means you don't have a lot of money but doesn't necessairly mean you're homeless or in poverty

I can also mean educational and emotional poverty.
