Is this fraud? I got the money order from Longs drugs, and not the post office. I should've... anyhow, is there anyway of knowing if she cashed it or not? Or am I screwed? This is also through an ebay auction and she has very good, high ratings... so I dont think its likely. but then again she could've gotten it and just said she didnt because she knows I can't check...

Give it 10 business days. If she still says she hasn't received it, have the issuing party track it to see if it has been cashed. If it hasn't been cashed, stop payment on it and re-issue another one. If it has been cashed, have the issuing party check into it, where it was cashed, when it was cashed, who signed it, etc.

Money Orders can be verified. Go back to the drug store that you purchased the money order from, they should have a number that they can call to verify that the funds have been collected. They might be hesitant to give you the number to call, if they are request that a manager calls for you. When the store agrees to sell money orders from a specific company they are supplied with all of the necessary tools to handle a situation like this. It is as simple as calling a 1-800 number and punching in a few numbers with an automated teller. Under no circumstance should they say that verifying the Money Order is not possible. It is. I work at a bank and thi kind of situation happens all the time. I hope this helps.

I can't remember for sure but seems like there is an 800 number you can call to see if it has been cashed. I would check with where I purchased the money order. At least you will know if it has been cashed.

Always, if you mail something like a money order or anything else send it return receipt requested or I believe the PO has some other ways to verify delivery, never just put it in and envelope and mail it, that way you have a receipt for delivery

Probably you have just lost out. Never send something you cannot trace without requiring proof of delivery.

After giving it enough time to reach her....and if it still isn't there, try to put a stop payment on it and reissue.
