Ok, this is the 3rd or 4th time you have ask this question.

You need to define just what you think a Law Clerk is?

Law Clerks are temporary positions, usually held by the top graduates of Law Schools. They help Justices do research and help write legal opinion.

Some Law Clerks are on summer break from Law School.

Basically the higher the rank of the Justice you work for, the harder it is to receive the Clerkship.

.
Now if you are talking about working for a Law Firm in the legal field, you can do that with a paralegal education.

Exactly what your duties and salary would be, would depend on your educational level.

There are both 2 year and 4 year para legal programs.

Obviously someone with a 4 year BS Degree would have greater responsibility and salary than someone with a 2 year degree.

The term "law clerk" is used for many different jobs. Usually it refers to a law student who is working at a law firm before he or she becomes a lawyer, but sometimes a law clerk operates like a paralegal.

You can be a law clerk without going to law school, but usually the job is reserved for law students who have taken legal research class, etc. If you get your paralegal certificate, you can be a paralegal! (Which is similar).

No, you don't have to have a bachelor's in law. It can be in ANYTHING. But, you do need to have a JD or it's equivalent (in the UK this is considered to be an LLB, but actually an LLM is the real equivalent). As for taking the California BAR, you might have to pass it. I suggest you just call your local court clerk AND ASK. A paralegal certificate won't do it. No, you won't be able to do so without going to law school.

The term "law clerk" describes the type of duties you perform.

Some law clerks are paralgals, some are junior attorneys learning the trade. So, you need the appropriate education for qualifications (paralegal or attorney).
