I used to be a Mary Kay consultant. I still have an inventory of more than $4,000 in retail products, plus some promotional and "Section 2" items. I have look at selling then on ebay, but I'm not sure that's the best option. Any suggestions?

Amazon and overstock for starters.

You could also try a flea market in your area, a booth at a mall. Run free ads on the internet. They do not cost anything and I advertise my business on the free ads all the time.

Touchofpinkcosmetics.com and pinkdiscount.com both buy inventory. I know touch of pink will buy for half of wholesale. I don't know about the other. Also, did you contact MK about their buy back plan? I have the 1-800 number if you need it.

Lastly, I would make a BUNCH of fliers and sell everything at a 50% discount (retail discount, so at cost to you). Try Craigslist.com, as well because you can post for free.

Sorry it didn't work out for you!

Oh, just thought of something. Try contacting local consultants in your area and see if they want to buy any inventory or business supplies from you at cost or give a discount if you need to get rid of everything that badly. I know I have bought from old consultants when the prices are lower than the MK price.

I would be hesitant about selling back to the company you never know down the road unless you are absolutely 100% sure you never will want this again. I just recently ran into someone with total regret life changes and you never know. with that said did you talk to your director. How long ago did you stop selling it? With that large of an inventory did you have a reg clientele that would love the discount? Where are you located? email me and I'll see if I can help more.

You can sell your products back to Mary Kay and get 90% back of what you paid for the items :) I think its the best way to make you rmoney back on the items you are not going to sell anymore. I currently sell Mary Kay and thats how I am aware you can sell it back

I think you can ask the company if they would take some of it back or sell them at event where they rent out tables. You can sell them at cost and you will still make you money back. Another idea is make gift baskets and give them away for Christmas gifts or birthdays that would save you money to buy them. Lastly you can ask another consultant if she would be interested. I hope that helped.

Can you have a huge open house party? Say everything must go? Advertise in a local paper -
Try overstock.com they have auctions -
Or see if anyone above you (or just starting) wants items.

Look for another consultant to sell it to.
