They say if you cut down on the amount of food you give the cat, they will start to hunt. I set traps before I got the cat. Used peanut butter instead of cheese, I also got a couple of those sticky traps. The cat was funny when a mouse got stuck on one of those, every time the mouse moved, the cat would slap at it. I let the cat torture it awhile then finally bashed it's head and threw it away.

Mice are so gross, last year we had a family of them move in, wound up killing 12 mice in 3 days. And my house isn't that dirty. I know have almost everything in the pantry in Tupperware containers. Also don't leave the pet food out all day.

buy mouse traps, or a cat, or a dog. or you can make your own trap by setting up a ruler on a garbage pale full of anti freeze, with some "treat" at the enbd of the ruler. So when the mouse goes to get the treat, they fall in and die. hehe. do NOT buy the sticky pad traps. those are torture.

setting traps is the most common way to do it. They are probably running around because you have crumbs of food on your floor somewhere, and they are going to keep running back and forth until they cant find food. When they cant find food, they will leave. Just make sure to set traps and keep all your food locked up tightly, and make sure you dont have dirty dishes sitting around.

It's sad, but a good poison is the only way. Unless you just want to keep the numbers down. Traps can be cruel.

Get a female cat ( I made the mistake of getting a male - they hunt but most of the time they can't be bothered) the females are usually evil and collect heads

Use either glue or spring loaded traps w/ a dab of peanut butter. Good luck. Oh...seal "all" points of entry.
