No doubt about it, there is NO better band than the Beatles. No bands then and no bands in the future will ever come close to being as good or better than the Beatles. The Beatles created what rock and roll/pop music is today! They did things with music no one else did. The Beatles are the best band ever and never will stop being the best band ever. I LOVE THE BEATLES!

I think one of the things that makes the Beatles a great band is the fact that they broke so much new ground.
They were the first to do so many things, that are common in pop music. Even something simple like intentionally using feedback, like at the start of "I Feel Fine" - to a concept album like Sgt. Pepper.
Their singing, songwriting, arranging etc. were much more complex than what had come before. Again, some brilliant acts followed, but the lads did it first.
I think another reason they are fab is the influence they had on popular culture. They had a big impact outside of music, that kind of thing doesn't happen unless you got something.
And we forget about the technology. Everything was analog, and they did amazing work on 4 and later 8 track equipment.

as of right now, i don't believe there is a better band of the beatles.
The beatles were the inspiration of ever band after them, they were the band that started it all, their music will live on forever!

There's always Pink Floyd. I think they did more for pychedelia than the Beatles did. AND they had a wayyyyy better guitarist (even though I will always love George Harrison). I think the're so big because they were the first majoe British Invasion band and had a new sound.
