Have many people done this? I am 21 year/old man and I've been writing since 1999 about my life, in general. Obviously, my writing has become more mature and my writing has changed as I have changed.

But, in 2003, when i graduated from high school, I started writing them in their own notebooks and I gave the notebook a name. Kind of like giving an c.d. a title. Usually, these notebooks contain anywhere from 50-100 pieces of freestyle and lyrical poetry. In my 3rd one (which is about 1-2 weeks away from being completed), I mix together fiction and non-fiction and it's really been a much more mature effort than all my other stuff. I'm really proud of it, so far.

Anyways, the basic question is, does anybody else do this in this manner? I'm just wondering how many of us think alike.

Yes I am quite like that, I jourrnal everyday about what goes on or how I feel or about what happened and I always title the page and then at the end of my journaling I always somehow end in the name of the title, [if that makes sense] Like you know how when you title it bad day, and then in the end you say Like I said I had a bad day Lol. I don't think it's wierd it's creative, it sets u apart from other writters and it lets the writter know a lil more about you and what is in your mind, and a lil bit about your writting. so Yes there are some alike.

No, I haven't but I think it is a good idea. Just try and keep your poetry journals safe and away from those who might try and peep your secrets if any are expressed in the poetry.

I think you have created a very good outlet for your life however. writing or journaling helps one "release" frustrations etc..one might otherwise carrry and keep in their consciousness. often that negativity shows up in how we express (interact) ourselves to others

a wonderful practice!

I haven't done that, though I have read and read about a lot authors who publish their poems in that form. I think it is a very neat way to express yourself. I'm a little more boring... I think in lists, which I'm sure no one is interested in, though your poems sound very interesting. you could probably publish them! I would definantly want to buy a copy!
