Actually, most people would think George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. But if you want to get technical, before the revolution was won, the VERY FIRST president of the Continental Congress and United Colonies was John Hancock. So it would go like this:
John Hancock
George Washington
