There IS a third sex/gender! It is presently call homosexuality! One day this will be fully realized and accepted! I cannot say that I understand it all ( I am a woman very in love with a man), but I have friends and relatives who have 'partners' of the same sex. When I visit their homes, I find love, beauty, warmth not to mention fine dining and great conversation!! The ONLY DIFFERENCE seems to be that they prefer a 'same sex' relationship. It's really no biggee!
Our society is still very primitive and narrow on many levels.

Well the "sex" already exists as in nature as hermaphroditic creatures or organisms. Some snails and deep-sea organisms can fertilize their own bodies. In people, very small children do not have a concept of adult sexuality and their idea of sex is so Oedipally private that until they mature, their notions of sex will always be outside of natural sexual functioning. On the other hand, because of the nature of fertilization (sperm and egg) and deeper than that, such as X and Y chromosomes, it would not be possible to have a third sex. Having a third sex neatly defies biological causation.

I am not sure what it would be , but I am sure some fundimentalists would find something terrible to say about it, and that it should be changed to a man or woman!!!!
