It's hard for many of us to see our own flaws, partly because we want to see the best in ourselves, and partly because we are so used to them. For example, we might not detect our own smoking or cat-box odor because it's around us all the time, but we'll notice someone else's "problem," which may not be obvious to them.
We also feel helpful when we assist others with something so familiar to us, but feel helpless trying to tackle our own long-term bad habits, which are always hard to change. Because of these things, it's not unusual for us to be shocked when faced with our own hypocrisy.
My advice is when confronted by such persons, ask them to show you BY EXAMPLE how you can best implement their suggestions, without pointing out their obvious flaws. Maybe by teaching and doing, they will learn and remember. You will be helping them, they will think they're helping you, and your relationship will benefit both ways.

A lot the time the person who is giving the good advice does not posses the mental or emotional strength to follow through on what they know to be true.

ummm I think that sometimes by hearing the advice from other people whom you respect will increase your chances of following that advice. And sometimes we are our own enemy becuase we are afraid to be great, we are afraid to let our talents out in the world, but I guess we need to learn to overcome that, somehow.

You know your right. People talk a lot of SH#T and it sounds all good but it alot of easier said than done. I think and feel if you must give advice just tell from previous experiences, and try not to sugar coat anything.

It is always just more comforting to us humans if we hear an answer from someone else. It is not that we are our own enemy, its just that we are wired to believe what others say because of our limited knowledge.

coz when it happened to you,all emotions are there but when its someone else's problem you don't feel a thing and its easier to make a decision for someone else.
