I totally agree with your list, and add food additives, toxic meat from horribly farmed animals, services for the elderly, and public support for people with disabilities. If its not a topic they can line their pockets with, they wont bother spouting off about it.

Faith is touchier although you'll often hear that politicians went to church. That separation of church & state. That's pro-faith, not anti-Christian. Everyone has the right to worship any of the 300 Christian denominations or any other faith.

You aren't listening to them. Those are some of the most heatedly debated issues. What about Jessica's Law? That went through this nation as a political debate, just like wildfire, 2 years ago.

A politician is or has been a habitual liar and wont dwell on specific questions, but if this is turned around and you vote him or her into office those facts you've discussed are no longer in his thoughts. In fact they dont even know you unless you have big money.

Politicians are only concerned about getting re-elected. So they generally stay a course that pleases all his constituates. Thats why they never seem to take a stand unless its a very popular one.
