OK. So I was in the religious section and somebody asked: Do you think gays are the new blacks?
So I answered: "Heck no! Gays wouldn't be caught dead in those clothes!"
So anyway, some people really got offended. I didn't mean to insult either gays or blacks, I was just sitting at my computer killing time and wrote the first smart alec thing that came into my mind. (I was thinking about the ghetto rap clothes).
So I just want to ask you guys: Do you think this was a bad thing to say? Would you be offended if you read that out of context?
Anyway, I didn't mean anything by it. I was just making fun of some stereotypes. I'm sorry if anyone really got offended.

Hi there. No, I didn't find your comment offensive at all. It's quite funny, actually. You do know that gays are said to have the best sense of humor? Ask Kathy Griffin!

I can see why some people would be offended....but were they mad at the person asking the question too? Isn't the question if gays are the new blacks just as offensive?
Personally, I think your answer was witty and funny! Seriously, this is Yahoo Answers!

I am not offended by the comment at all. It was a spur of the moment response and not a racial slur. It sounds like a line that a comic would use that many people would laugh at. If we can't laugh at ourselves, then we seriously have to rethink our priorities.

That instructor is sweet in spite of the indisputable fact that. concentrating on your artwork is extra substantial than speaking approximately boys. impolite? isn't it impolite to be speaking approximately boys in middle of sophistication? there's a time and place for each little thing. That pupil grew to become into speaking with regard to the incorrect element on the incorrect place on the incorrect time. If that exceeded off to me... no wait... it already does... properly while it does take place to me I snigger approximately it because of fact i comprehend that the instructor is sweet.

I wouldn't worry about it. You can't make everyone happy ... and I totally know how it is when you quickly respond with the first thing that comes to your mind. I do that all the time.
