Since you LOVE the movie (I do too)...decorate the hall with posters of bands from the 80's era.
Duran Duran, The Cure, Inxs, The Smiths, etc...
Hire a DJ that is going to play ONLY 80's music...the PIP soundtrack is a must! Lots of pink balloons and streamers...
In addition to having all the basic soda's, have a signature PIP Cocktail. You may be underage...but no reason why you can't have a fun PINK, non-alcoholic "signature" drink:
Mix cranberry juice, pineapple juice and ginger ale...will be a nice pink color.
You can make up gallons of this before the party and have it set up in a punch bowl.
Have fun 80's themed favors...like mini rubix cubes (I've seen them at target), neon gummy bracelets and for the girls, blue eye shadows or "banana clips".
Hope this helps!

1. Go resale shopping for very kewl purses (in pink of course!) and use these for centerpieces with balloons coming out of them!
2. Have the hall use pink napkins, or mix them with black, this too, is very chic!
3. Go to the M&M website and order pink and white m & ms for each guest. I think they even package them for you...
4. Find or make your invitations. I'd consider using the photo from the movie jacket somehow... You can design, and print your own invites, it's fun, easy and very "one-of-a-kind."
5. Find yourself the coolest, knockout "pink dress, shoes and accessoreis" for the party.
6. Make sure dessert is "pink themed" also. Pink frosting on cake; strawberry parfaits.
7. As for a menu, hmmmmmmmmmm go simple. Do a buffet of finger foods, chicken fingers, buffalo wings, fried mozzerella, little hot dogs in bbq sauce, pizza, chips, etc.... Your family and friends are not going to DIE if they don't get a sit down, full dinner!!! IT's YOUR party!! Your parents can explain to their friends that after all, it is a party for YOU!!
8. Get someone with an iPod and speakers and set it up for background music. I think you can get 4 hours worth the music on one and you won't have to pay for a DJ. Have some of your friends start now and download songs you all like, only not vulgar ones please! Also include some slow music in case you want to have people be able to dance..
9. And, whatever else you do, make sure you thank each and every person in attendance, personally!!! If you've received gifts ahead of time (money or other) thank them and be sincere. You can say something like "I'm sure looking forward to college life and your gift (item) is going to look great in my dorm room. If it's money, thank them for their thoughtfulness and say that you know there are going to be a lot of expenses associated with college that you haven't considered yet, and you will use the money in a responsible way.....
THIS DOES NOT GET YOU OUT OF SENDING THANK YOU NOTES AFTER THE PARTY. This is just a great way to be remembered. Thoughtful, mature, grown up.....
And thank your parents (maybe get everyone's attention at the party then simply say "thank you Mom & Dad for such a wonderful party. I'm having a great time...and hope you are too. You both have been wonderful parents...and I love you."
If they are paying, you CAN do this small thing for them...

Does the hall serve food, if not you need to contact a caterer and pick out a menu. Chicken, ham and beef are good ideas. You need to have a cake. The bakery knows how big of one you should order. Are you having a band or a DJ? You may want to get started on that since they book up fast. Make sure you buy yourself a pretty dress. Make a list of everything. Lists are great. Good luck.

well... since pretty in pink is a 80s movie... put on some 80s music :D and if it's possible, try to get people dress like the 80's too. me and my friends had a 80s party before and people actually dressed up for it and we had tons of fun. oh and maybe you can ask you're parents for some advice too. and see what kinda stuff they enjoyed in the 80s.

You want something that will hold everyone's attention. Since you have such a big guest list, you want something simple. Get a lot of food. (lots of snacks!!! not everyone will like the main course you choose!!!) Music is a must. I suggest that the party is out doors. If its inside, i guarantee something will be broken!!! hope I helped!!!
