I'm just wondering as a Greek kid who was born there, came to America at 9. My family learned English right away and I was told to always speak in English because its the language of America. I was taught to not speak in greek unless i was with our family.. I grew up in a heavily hispanic area. All these kids I went to school with spoke English and Spanish fluently.. Yet they chose to speak in Spanish to each other right in front of me, something i would never do to them.
Also alot of people in that neighborhood lived in America for 50+ years but refused to learn or speak English and told me "SPEAK SPANISH"... It amazes, I have traveled to Europe and Asia and even learned French, Italian, Japanese so I would be able to communicate. I would never dream of telling Japanese people "SPEAK ENGLISH", especially if I moved there and lived there from 70 years of my life.
So explain why Spanish people are the only group of people who behave this way?
