Senator Clinton would win by a landslide in New York. The cross-dresser isn't very popular in New York.

Let me preface my opinion by stating the fact that I've no dog in this fight, other than being American. I am not from NY, I am an independent and have an aversion to today's politics.
Rudy would win handily. Why? Although the deeper story is more complicated he is known as they guy who cleaned up NYC by "law-abiding, home-owning, VOTING Dems and Repubs alike. To even create the appearance of that is a considerable task.
Also, Rudy is ACTUALLY FROM NYC, not Chicago.
He has a huge Republican money-train behind him.
Rudy is just more like-able.
Last and perhaps of most importance....he showed strength and calm during the worst minutes, hours and day after 9-11. Hillary is obviously smart, tough and capable but ultimately untested.
Rudy, by a landslide.

In conversations with my friends in NY I find almost unanimous agreement that Rudy didn't do squat in the City prior to 9/11. The state of NY is primarily a Democratic state and he would have a hard time winning it.

Hillary. The fire department in NY put out a press release about how bad Rudy handled 9/11 and sent home 300 extra people that wanted to help after he got the MONEY and GOLD and stuff.....they said he did NOT care about the people buried and finding them....if people listen to the fire department and the first responders, Hilary would easily take NY !

C'mon...let's all say it together:
"IT'S GIULANI TIME!!!"
Thank you all.
To Pau: Rudy had to drop out of the senate race because he was undergoing prostate cancer treatments. Hillary beat Rick Lazio for the senate, not Rudy.
What BS? All I said was that Hillary beat Lazio, not Rudy, for the senate, when you stated that she did beat Rudy. Nothing more. No need to be defensive. I've lived through it as well. I think it would have been interesting to see the final outcome had Rudy ran the whole race. Could his divorce have hurt him? Maybe. Maybe not. We'll never know. Many people have messy divorces, but it is more important to me that the job is done effectively.

Difficult to say. Giuliani while social liberal is still supporting Bush's war and that might not go well with New Yorkers. Clinton is popular and has her husband with her. She might be able to appease them on her position on Iraq and though, Rudy was famous for 9/11, there are still people who don't like him. I would say Hillary has a better chance but I wouldn't bet my money on it.
