You need to stand out. I got into one of those for a summer course not on my grades, but on other interesting experience I put in my admissions essay. (didn't end up going for the full four years because it was dull and didn't have a good football team and the girls were... Yes, I'm shallow.)

Just be amazing in what you do, volunteer, work, run for student office, run the school newspaper, have a sense of humor, stand out in any good way you can (no, don't go to prison, unless it's for protesting some injustice of course).

Harvard is a very good school. The best in the country. There are a few things that are going to help you get in. If you are in the National Honors Socity, it is going to help alot. High SAT scores are going to be a major plus also. They also like to look for well roundedness. Be involed in things outside of school, such as an instrument, or voulenteering. You have to have REALLY good grades, or else they won' t accept you. Also, try extra classes in high school, such as cooking, or something that isn't required.

Hope I helped!

Ivy league schools look for students who are serious and ready to commit themselves to the years they're applying to their studies. Your personal statement when you apply plays a huge part in whether you get in or not because that tells schools what kind of person you are before they even meet you. So think long and hard when you apply to schools when they ask for a personal statement. They also like students who participated in community based activities like Student Council/Government-if coming from a different college and honors status will also give you a leg up as well.

Money. As in dollars, many of them. Oh, and they wouldn't mind if you had a few passing grades too. God Bless you.
