It's just the parts of your body that get stimulated and you feel good, for some its a release of sexual tension mainly for pleasure and it has got to do with the mind aswell , like what mood your in what turns you on, thinking about having sex with someone, i think thats what most people do and as for fingering i suppose thats just a good substitution for penetrative sex. It is a perfectly normal and healthy thing to do, but obviously should not be done in public.lol. everyone does it and if they say they dont there embaressed.
I would just like to add when you say how does the guy or girl get fulfilled is basically when they bring themselves to orgasm. But complete fullfilment would to be to have real great sex with someone you really love.

When young men and ladies enter puberty new hormones release. As you mature in the teen years the human body responds to new experiences simply because of maturation.
Leave porn out of the equation as it has no meaning in the changing of human development.
