I have a bell, but it doesn't work anymore. Thank God, because whenever someone rings it, the dog goes apeshit and barks her head off.
So I got a brass knocker too.....

We have a bell. It does a really traditional 'ding dong' and it's never had the battery changed in over 30 years.
