Suze Orman just released a book called "Women & Money" about the attitudes and behaviors women have toward money. If there were a book like that for gay men, what would it cover?

It might address...

-- the dangerous spending attitudes associated with the conspicuous consumption (e.g. travel, fancy clothes and accessories) and particularly efforts to look attractive/youthful (skin creams, waxing, hairstylists) that *some* gay men go in for

-- the differences in money management between the traditional hetero model (two spouses save money and then it passes to their kids) and the more complex family structures some gay men are in

-- the costs specific to gay couples in this country...tax and pension implicatons of being unable to legally marry...perhaps the costs of hiring a surrogate mom or other "alternative" ways of starting a family

There is no relation between sexuality and finances. Suzie Orman's book deals a lot with women because women's situations can be different than a man's due to the legality of marriage and children. Books on how a person handles money deals with that per se. Would a Cook Book be any different depending on a person's sexuality? The same applies to finance.

gay men are still male so I'd say they manage it differently. in general women are a bit more responcible and men tend to be more irresponcible the younger they are.
so a 20 something straight girl is more responcible than a 20 something gay man

Gay men typically have much more disposable income than straight people. I think they live more for the day...less for the children they don't have.
