Well this is the way I do my cleaning and not just in the spring time . I pick one room to work in , set my alarm clock o go off in 15, min´s time I never take anything back to it´s rightful place until I have finished in that room,I leave everything outside the room then take them back . Once the alarm goes off I either stop have a rest ,put my feet up have a coffee or do the same again. You think 15, min´s is very little time to do much , You will be surprised just how much you can achieve in this short space of time . Try for yourself

I would first get up at the normal time you usually would for work - get in the shower and dressed - then spend 3 hours doing "spring" cleaning - have the kids help! Then you still have the rest of the day - if you are on a roll the first day you can keep cleaning while the kids go out and play. Then you should have the rest of the week to enjoy with the children. Also, check out Flylady.net she has some great cleaning ideas. Happy cleaning!

Well if you mean for this spring break, I would say the answer is timing. You could get a lot done in a day or two cleaning, and maybe even having the kids do a little part as a game, or with reward in the future. Like if you guys do your rooms, put old things in a box for Mommy to throw away or give away, tomorrow we will go to the park and have a picnic cuz I will be done quicker with your help.
Or even if you made mornings for cleaning and afternoons for fun, you would still get a lot done.
Use a timer, do 30 minutes in a room or the like, and then move on.
I'm sure you will do fine though, just the fact that you are asking for ways to do it, shows you are looking at this in a logical and informative way because you want to do both.
Good luck :-)

My suggestion would be to let the children get involved in the spring cleaning, make it a fun project. That way you would be doing something with the kids also with help you can get done quicker that will give you enough time to relax.

I would say have fun cleaning with your children. My mother used to wash the dishes with me (playing with soap bubbles makes it fun). If your children have sensitive skin, however, i would suggest you washt he dishes and let your children dry them while singing a song. Cleaning can be fun and something the family can do together. It helps your children learn to be responsible and clean while allowing you to bond at the same time. Other things you can do to make cleaning fun is when you're doing the laundry have your children do "dress-up" while you are folding the clothes. They can model for you which will help build their confidence and have fun at the same time :) Having your children do chores with you will help reduce the time required and leave more time at the end of the day when everything is done to go out as a family to enjoy the outdoors, shopping, etc.
