I was very proud of Zell when he gave the keynote address at the GOP Convention.

With the Democrat Party having lurched to the extreme far left, there is no room in it for moderates like Zell any longer.

Zell didn't leave the Democrat Party, the party left him.

There is not one "racist" bone in Zell Miller's body. He removed the Confederate Flag from the Georgia state flag. Yea, I'm sure the KKK loved that descicion!

Here in Nebraska, one of our Senators is Ben Nelson. He has voted along with Bush more than any other Democrat senator. He has even voted more in line with Bush than our Republican senator. I don't agree with Ben Nelson on everything, but he's pro-life, pro-family, and pro-gun. There are a few good Democrats, just like there are bad Republicans.

I have lived in Georgia for all of Zell's political life. He is not known as Zig/Zag Zell because he stayed with one parties ideals, he would flip at the drop of a hat to follow fair winds and avoid rough seas.

His world famous HOPE Scholarship program has become one of the greatest hoaxes pulled on the people of Georgia. Poor people are educating richer people's children by spending money on lottery tickets. You have to ask "what has three balls and screws rednecks?" The answer is the lottery.

In order for a Democrat to win in the South they have to run on a conservative style ticket. Miller did that effectively. Being an Independent I thought that his speech before the Republican convention
was an embarrassment to him and the republicans.
They , the republicans, didn't have anyone worth while to give the keynote address. Miller left the Democrats and the Democrats are better for having him gone.

Zell Miller was no democrat at all (he's hardly human at all).

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

(I found his accusation Kerry would have soldiers fight with spit-wads especially ironic, since the Bush Administration refused to outfit them with life-saving equipment.)

My favorite Democrat of all time is Harry Truman. If old Harry were alive today Mecca would be incinerated into a parking lot and Democrats and Liberals would be in internment camps just like FDR and Truman did during WWII to the Japaneese.

Zell Miller is proof positive that the Dixiecrats of the 1950's and 60's are the base foundation of today's GOP.

and you're right - we DID leave him and his archaic, molding ways. We are PROGRESSIVE, and sadly for ol' Zell, his carreer ran it's course a looooooooooooong time ago.

next up on the chopping block of politcal suicide will be Joe Leiberman....SLAP!

im sure there are respectable democrats, the leadership just doesnt understand inclusion and the value of seeking a better understanding of their group as a whole. leaders want to act as rulers rather than leaders, their way or hit the pavement. I believe that the leadership treat congress as their own property rather than a house of the people.

Yes, if the fringe, socialist libs were smart, then they'd listen to the Zel Millers of the party. Then maybe they'd have a decent shot at regaining their relevancy.

Of course they won't, so they are consigned to the dust-bin of history.

I completely agree. It is good for conservatives because his type come to our party. Maybe we can get the party cleared of liberals too.

Zell Miller, last racist southern conservative Democrat.

Good riddance. We don't need people like that in our party.

HE WAS INDEED A RACIST. HE SUPPORTED SEGREGATION IN THE 60s. FACT!
