but only recently it has swelled up a bit, now its becoming uncomfortable. Wondering what it can be?

a little opening developed and when i lightly squeezed it, alot of puss came shooting out. it was a mostly white with a little reddish tint. its a little red now, but i think its just a cyst.

Boy,are you in luck.The doctor is in.This sounds like a classic case of "lump on the collarbone that is getting bigger"I feel confident that I am right but I do suggest that you get a second opinion.

If you are able to move the lump beneath the skin, then it is probably a harmless fatty cist, but it could be cancer or something dangerous. If it is painful then you should see a doctor.
