Thanks for all the good suggestions, they are really aqppreciated. I know $20 per person sounds cheap, but if you say my income and expeses you would say... "oh now I understand"... Im a single mom and rent aint cheap.. neither is gas to drive around or clothes for two teenage boys.. not to mention the food they and their friends go through :)

Have a party outdoors, perhaps a barbeque. Sports or other activities might be fun, since he's obviously the active type. Tell him that you are sorry that you can't afford what he really wants to do, and that he can suggest what to do at the party (what kinds of activities, what food will be cooked). Oh, and a good alternative for paintball: shaving cream fights with waterguns (a lot cheaper!) And it's fun... even as an adult. If you suggested that, I bet he would think the idea (and you) would be very cool.

No offense, but $20 an hour is expensive? i can understand the paintball being expensive, but if Sky High is only $20 an hour and NOT a person, I think you should go with that and make it a two hour party.

I believe Sky High is preety cheap for a party... Invite his closest friends and maybe have it be like 3 hours...that's only 60 bucks... then go home and blow out the cake!

What we do is to just arrange a gathering of his friends for paintball. His friends pay their own way and no gifts from them expected. You bring a cake and food and everyone will have fun.

Try to tell him that it doesn't matter WARE you are, it's WHO you're with. A swimming party maybe? I know someone who rented a few hotel rooms overnight.
I hope this helps!
