ive had both and i never got bitten by my female albino burm even though she was over 13 ft long but my green anaconda well he was about 3 ft and i dont think there was a day that he didnt bite me. burms have a mice attitude and usually dont waste there energy on human food if you keep them right but all the anacondas ive taken care of dont mind taken a swipe at you every once and awhile ive held anacondas as small as 24" and as big as 14 ft and they all seem to have the same attitude towards human which is like them saying i rather kill you than to chill out but thats the nature of them. they get aggitated rather quickly and seem to have a real bad attitude when out of water. i figure that they re more uncomfurtable out of water being very heavy. by the way dont get a yellow anaconda they are pretty much the nastiest boa on the planet i classify them as having a devil like attitude and when you cross green and yellow they you pretty much have the devil. i remember taking care of a young juvi. hybrid yellow/green anaconda and the theing struck so many times that it would litteraly hop out of its shoe box. bad snake breeding if you ask me taking two nasty snakes and making a freak of nature.

A Burmese Python has the calmer temperment by far. Anacondas are a very large water snake and tend to have a very nasty disposition.

(Comment for Morbid ... Anacondas do not make good "circus" snakes for a very obvious reason... they require water.. Anacondas are very heavy bodied and the water keeps them from damaging internal organs.. and being transported from one venue to another over many bumpy roads will kill them in short order).

burmese get very large and if are not handled right will become very aggressive and most people feed them pigs, which is why people get ate by them while they are asleep and they get outta the tank due to the vibrations of snoring... and in the anaconda world green anacondas are usually more temperamental then yellow...so if you plan on getting one make sure you know how to rise a snake and spend a ton of time with it...the more time you spend the better their temper is USUALLY...if you get a anaconda check out for a young (baby) yellow one! I have to agree with hotsnakes2 and Frank S. Burms are, by far, more laid back and have better temperaments than anacondas. I personally have 4 burms, all of which were rescues, not because of attitudes, but because the original owners didn't realize how big they got. While burms can be a wonderful animal to have, they are not for the inexperienced.

As for anacondas, green or yellow, doesn't matter, unless you can devote your entire patio, complete with swimming pool to them, and you just want to say you own one (because actually, it owns you), there is no reason to have one. As a rule, they're unpredictable, aggressive and have been known to size up a human on more than one occasion.

And snoring... can cause your snake to break out of its enclosure, ...hunt you down,...and eat you....... ? Facinating....
Now I've heard it all....

Neither. they are both unpredictable and can be aggressive. I wouldn't recommend either of them as a pet unless you have a lot of experience with large snakes.
