Drill holes of different sizes in several caps, then experiment to see which is the ultimate size.

Drop about 3 or 4 mentos simultaneously into a 2 liter bottle of coke. No shaking necessary.

Make a paper tube and drop the whole pack of Mentos in at one time. That will get the stream as high as possible

Personally I like to use fructose tablets ( they got more fizz if you as me). You can buy them at your local Sams Club. What I do though is make a paper tube, put your hand at the bottom and stack the mentos in the tube. as soon as you opem the diet coke, just drop 'em in.
