We have a Civic, the previous shape, and love it. The only drawback is that both my hubby and I feel the visibility isn't too good when reversing (out of the rear window and the rear passenger windows). But we get over 40mph round town out of it, which is what we love most.
When our car went for its recent service, we had the new Civic as a courtesy car. The drive was the lovely smooth one that you'd expect from a Honda, but the rear visibility was even worse. We were both seriously worried reversing off our narrow drive as we could not see the low wall at either side as the windows have so little depth. We had to tilt the wing mirrors downwards to see them!
Also, I found the dashboard (flight deck??) very distracting as there was so much info. I found myself watching the eco-gauge thing, trying to get more lights to come on (to show how economically you're driving) which meant I wasn't watching the road as much!!
We wouldn't buy one.

I certainly have a 13 365 days previous honda civic bought from new and it remains going sturdy! The extra present day shape honda civics are staggering to stress yet as one contributor has stated, the rear view seems restrictive.

Personally I love it. If ever a car deserved the red light going back and forth across its front end, Knight Rider stylee, it's that one. Kind of looks like a Cylon Interceptor on Bridgestones. If anything can shake the rep that Hondas are only bought by mash-eaters then this is the one to do it.

Nice overall, except for its very short front, cab forward design ala dogde cars before, advanced design compared to others in its class, sure winner and will be another honda icon soon...following the 1992 civic

The sedan is pretty ugly but the coupe is sleek. I have a white '07 LX Civic coupe...normally I don't like white cars but mine is beautiful (I guess I'm a little biased but I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like it). I think it's the best looking model since the redesign in 1992.

Honestly.
BUTT UGLY is the new BLACK.
But the Horsepower is awesome. The best ever.
If I was in my early 20's I would buy it. But now my taste has grown to Sport-Sedans with big V6's.
Even though I still have my 97 Integra in Mint condition. But my daily driver is an IS300.
If your young 16 to 29 buy this car and Mod it up.

I think it looks great.
A friend of mine bought a red one last year and he thinks its good. He's hard to please when it comes to cars but he seems to really like the new civic and is more than pleased with the spec.
Its also different looking which is what I like - all the other types of cars in the same catagory all look the same. The only other one which looks good is the new Seat Leon - it looks fanatastic!

Its taken a while but i now quite like it. The interior dash with head up display is still a bit techy for me. The drive is really good though.

Liked it last year but I think it is starting to look a little dated already especially in silver, red is best colour i reckon.
