I adore MAC Cosmetics as a full line, but my holy grail foundation is their Studio Fix Fluid, and I use it every day with absolutely no bad side effects! I get perfectly smooth, velvety skin that looks deliciously flawless.
They have a wide range of skin products that also work well, but probably not quite as well as higher end lines like Clinique (which specializes in skincare) or Estee Lauder.
MAC has two lines, PRO and Consumer, and there are only a handful of stores that carry the PRO line and the foundations in it are usually obviously thick and for show. The consumer line, which is available at most department stores, is not at all just for "show," but is intended to be used regularly by normal people.

YES. They use better ingredients, that is why it cost more.
Chanel & MAC are the best choice for cosmetics. They cost more but they are worth it. If you are used to wearing makeup from places like walgreens, target, walmart etc.. you'll notice an immediate difference. When you go to buy it, have them put what you want to buy on your skin, walk around the store for a while and see if your skin isn't irritated, they use excellent ingredients so you probably won't break out but no promises.

MAC makeup is great --but is actually intended for "show" makeup --there stuff is really heavy, and can provide great coverage, but what I've heard from many make-up artists, their stuff might actually be bad for day-to-day use and does cause break-outs. I've used it for about 2 years, but when people kept telling me it's bad for you, because it contains ingredients that clog pores, causing you to break out, I immediately stopped.
What I actually heard is good for you, is Bare Escentuals. I have been using it for the last 3 months, and it is GREAT. It is so light weight, and actually really good for your skin. It's made from natural minerals, and so healthy for your skin --you can actually sleep in it. If anything, I recommend going to a Sephora store, or a Bare Escentuals store and they'll recommend what's best for you.
I hope this helps...

Yes MAC makeup is the best. I use it all the time. A lot of stars use it too. The MAC lipgloss is great too. All the products are good and worth the money.

well M.A.C is a great product and it is so worth the price the only thing is ..with M.A.C makeup it does damage you skin. that doesn't mean it's a bad prdouct though all it means is that you have to WASH you face every single day .very good in order for your face not to be damaged

All of they're stuff is great but there are a few items you can find cheap in the drugstores that work just as well (Wet n' Wild eyeshadow). Try to mix and match to get the most out of your money.

I think Almay is best for young skin. As you get older I'd consider Lancome...
