Which one should i apply too? Im only considering nursing because it pays good and i have a 6yr old and one on the way. Im not interested in nursing and i know that if i go i wont do as good because im not enjoying it just like i did in fashion design school. I really want to go to cosmetology school because i love making people pretty but im worried about the pay cause i need a job that pays good or atleast $150 a week.

Nursing demands A LOT OF WORK!!! Don't choose a job just b/c it pays well. No matter if you found your "perfect" career, it will someday just be a job. Choose a career that you feel your best suited for. Don't do nursing for the money. Yeah the money is great, but you will be working 12 hour shifts, standing on your feet ALL day long, and you will miss important time with your children. Choose the best career for you, that suits you. Don't choose something just because of money.

Don't let money be your motivator, let your heart and your child.

Greetings, Dear Potential Cosmetology Student. I stumbled across you question surfing the net. I just wanted to encourage to follow your passion. I am currently a cosmetology teacher and salon owner. I have been in this business for 22 years. You said you need a job paying at least 150 per week and that you wanted to make money. One thing I will say about cosmetology this that it requires you to hustle. The money you can make in this business is unlimited, however it requires a lot of work and patience. I think you should way your pros and cons in regards to the cost of education, nursing will cost you way more money and time in school depending on the type of nursing you are considering. beauty school on the other hand is anywhere from 10 to 24 months depending on the state you live in.The misconception that people have is that you can make any money as a stylist and this is not true. Most stylist don't make a lot of money because all they do is stand behind the chair and do hair. When starting out that's okay, but no one can make millions by doing that. This industry is diverse and you have to decide exactly what you want to do...this industry is so large you can pretty much do anything you want and make your own job. If you have any questions I would love to answer them for you...email me at LSELAHD@GMAIL.COM...hope this helps

speaking as a nurse i would say go to cosmetology school. nursing takes compassion!!!!!!!!!!!! picture yourself in a hospital or your child in a hospital with someone dat is only in it for the money!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus ya gotta consider that nursin school takes a few years and probably will be a lot more expensive than cosmetology school!!! if u r not ready to be hit, have your hair pulled, have all kinds of stuff flung on u, dealing with pus, feces, urine and other excrements all the time nursing is NOT the choice for u...........gl
