Well it depends on the activites that you are looking for. The Carolinas are infamous for their beaches. I have visited a few of the beaches and they are all nice. My personal favorite is Myrtle Beach,SC. There are so many things to do in MB. You can visit 3 different Ripley's Attractions, Nascar Cafe and Speedway, Myrtle Waves, Family Kingdom, Alligator Adventure, many different dinner theatres, etc. There is also a lot of shopping areas such as 2 Tanger Outlets locations, Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. Broadway and Barefoot is something you could make a day of, and never leave the site. There is shopping, restaurants, attractions. MB is just a fun place to be at. So I would suggest South Carolina. Have fun and enjoy your trip.

North Carolina has a more varied terrain, along with nicer cities. However, Charleston is a pretty great place, too.

I have been to both and I like North Carolina better because of the Smokey Mountains. They are gorgeous.

Outer Banks are much better then Myrtle Beach.
