I say go over to a University or College that offers a photography program(be it for art or for advertising), and talk to the teachers and see if there's a way to model for the students, or get your name out to them easily that you're available for it, as you need the practice and could use a portfolio expansion.

Then let them take pictures like crazy, take the best ones and add them to your portfolio. This should give you the fastest and biggest range of pics possible.

Also you can get your name out to ad agencies on your own with a portfolio, for when they're looking for models or whatnot, this would bypass the agency if you're in a smaller town.

If you're in a big city, once you have a portfolio that shows variety in looks and poses(make sure to have good front on and side pics and everything in between) take it around to agencies, as many as possible, just look in the phonebook and get out there. You'll probably get rejected a lot, not because you're not beautiful(I'll assume you are as you want to model), and likely not because you're not skinny enough(skinny models are on the way out anyways, the shift has started and their bony racks are tired), but more likely because any good agency will have a ton of models, and will be reluctant to get new ones. This will take a lot of work.

Do not pay anything EVER to any agency, a good agency if they want you to move somewhere they will pay for your apartment and travel and whatnot and you pay them back, it's like a loan. None should EVER ask you for money, especially not for classes(this is a big scam that goes around shattering dreams and draining bank accounts).

So that's about all I know.

Errr and you need to know how to walk, and to have a ton of confidence but underplay it. Because you need to look modest, but be able to stand up when people push you to change this or that when there's nothing that should be changed.

Depends on where you live but if you are close to a big city: LA, Chicago, San Fran, NYC... Wilhelmina or Elite. Do not fall for the small franchises that claim to be agencies. If they want $$ up front for their photographer and their training, they are not a reputable agency.
