Smartest thing he ever did. Steelers don't pay, he already won a Superbowl, and he's going to cash in next year. Ever heard of Dan Snyder's checkbook?

No,he takes a year off then next year at least 4 or 5 teams are gonna back a truckload of money to his door to come back.I see him either back w/Pittsburgh in some capacity or Carolina maybe even Tennessee in a year.

maybe he just wanted to take some real time off.he knows if hes had enough or not.he was a head coach for 18 years not many people can say that.and he did it at a high level.its stupid for him to stay around just because the town and fans of pittsburgh wants him to.

Kind of, but I think he's stupid for not leaving batch in for the rest of the year. I mean, did Cower know that Big Ben got in a cycle accident that almost ended his life?

No, I think he did the right thing. Time off for family. He can always go back to coaching if he decides that in the future-- look how many others have done that e.g. Parcells, Ditka, Gibbs, etc.
