MY Daughters best friend was murdered by her boyfriend who then turned up and told Zoe that he hadn't seen her etc etc, she was devastated to find out the truth after helping search for her with this !"£$%^%$@@****! to be told the truth and it really knocked her about, she was threatened with similar if she went to court but she did to make sure the creep was locked away. Think, woman THINK, People who are violent need to helped and if society thinks it is with punishment through the courts then that is what should be done, for if they don't get punished it makes matters worse, Yes she will be threatened but TRUTH is what matters and hopefully the attacker will be sent away but please make the Police aware that your daughter has been threatened and the School, in fact tell everyone who and why! Good Luck

Definitely let her make a statement, the attackers need to be prosecuted. I understand that you are concerned as your daughter has been threatened herself but these bullies get away with stuff by intimidating people. By making a statement your daughter is showing them that she will not be bullied by them. Also tell the police that she has been threatened and is worried about making a statement. They will warn the attackers and depending how serious the attack was they may provide other protection for your daughter. The only way to rid the world of idiots like the attackers is to stand up to them. Its tough but worth it. Tell your daughter not to be afraid you will protect her, i would also not let her go out alone in the meantime until the police have dealt with the situation.

As her mother, and the adult, the way you handle this will affect her way of handling things. Is the attacker the same age? You cannot allow her to be bullied in this way. The police need to be told of the threat, it is a criminal offence to intimidate a witness, and they ways of dealing with it. It is a terrible thing to be terrified out of doing what is right, but you would be furious if it were the other way round, and her attacker went free because a witness was too scared to make a statement.

Make her give a statement or how will these people ever be punished? If it had been your daughter who had been attacked but the witness didnt write a statement thus helping the person go free, wouldn't you be furious? She's never gonna be out of it, she just wont be helping to resolve it

If this were your daughter who'd been attacked, I'm sure you'd want the witness to make a statement. What happens if the attacker decides to kill someone after being released due to lack of evidence? Could you live with the guilt?

Definetly let her. If the attack had occured to your daughter I'm sure you would want the same.
We need all the help we can get to prosecute wrongdoerrs.Too many people look the other way and we end up with a lot of "bad" people roaming our streets.
Let your daughter help her friend and maybe save someone else from being attacked or maybe worse.

By law the police can not tell people who was witnesses. so your daughter is okay to do it... but think... is it what you want that matters? How does your daughter feel abotu speaking up about it? Will it bring bad memories if she does it? will her friend not talk to her iof she didnt? Whats happened is awful and its really up to your daughter if she wants to be a witness... if she does what to then stand by her support he and in form the police about the threats thye can give her extra protaction for example a bleeper to set off if an attack happend
good luck

Turn it around and think of your child as the victim. How would you feel if no witness made a statement.
What will you be teaching her about responsibility for friends and community if you don`t allow her to do what you know is right.
Make sure you stay with her and praise her for being a good citizen.

You cant put your own child's life at risk even if it means helping the friend out.
Cant your daughter make a statement in confidence, and then you tell the police she will not testify in court.
Good luck!!
