I have a job interview this week and they have asked me to give 2 words to describe my strengthes/weaknesses.
I would like to say that my weakness is that I have a tendancy to take on too much work (ie workload, not ability!)
My strength is that I am a strong teamworker....But I would like to phrase it better than that.
Thank you!

Sounds pretty clear to me, I don't think you need to change it.

By no means am I an expert, but if I was to put myself in an employers shoes, I'd say that you've already answered the latter half of your question. One word to describe your stregth is "teamplayer". And as far as I'm concerned, for your weakness of "taking on to much work", you can say something along the lines of being an "overachiever". And while most people would consider this more of a strengh in the longhaul, you are going to have to explain each of these answers. So why not have both of answers truly stand out as strengths, but explain why one can sometimes work to your disadvantage. Just make sure to explain yourself and you will be in great shape!! Make sure to check out the link below. Monster.com has a lot of good resources for interview preparation. Some questions may seem way out in left field, but believe me, some people love to throw you off track to see just how fast you can jump back on the wagon! Good luck!

Taking on too much work? I would say "dedicated" or "motivated". However, it could mean that you have a problem with "delegating" tasks to other people. You may also be a "perfectionist" if you feel that you are the best person to do the job.

Strong teamworker? Just say "team player" or "works well in a team". I don't think the word "strong" fits....to me, it sort of says that you are a better team player than anyone else - which means opposite because team players are supposed to be equals.

*Note: all of these hinge on whatever type of job you're going for.

positive= communticative
negative= workload/workacholic

remeber they asked for 2 words, not phrases. Team worker, not abiltiy and othe rstuff people are posting does sound better but they have more than 1 word each.

For the positive point say your able to communicate well with co-workers as well as customers. the problem wit using teamworker is that it limits your ability to work alone.

hope this helps

Strength - Strong Teamworker = Conforming (or I like "trooper" also)

Weakness - take on too much workload = Self-Sufficient or Autonomous
