The ***** will move around alot trying to find a comfortable position , lying down on her side when near time for delivery. If she has already had one pup, and doesnt have another for 30 to 45 minutes, get her up and make her walk around a little, the exercise will speed up her labor. Watch for signs of pain ( panting- bearing down with contractions) keep your voices low and calm, not alot of people in the room, stroke her head, let her know that you understand she is in pain, and want to help. Dont worry about food right now, most dogs wont eat while in labor, but keep really cool water near her head so she can have a drink when she wants it ( ices cubes help) . Just try to remember , dogs have been having pups for a kazillion years alone, I know you love her and want to help, but sometimes the best thing you can do is just be there to cheer her on, and let nature do the rest. Good luck!

They can. It depends, if this is her first litter, she might think that she needs to go to the bathroom. I see them deliver about 75% laying down, 25% sitting
