He can't sing...all he does is shriek. In my opinion, he should have been kicked off at week 1.

Ahhhh Sanjaya. Words cannot describe how bad he is but --except for being "cute" in the eyes of tween and early teen girls (for which read "flamingly gay") -- he has all the talent of William Hung.
The fact he survived Hollywood Week, when other, and clearly more talented people were given an unceremonious heave-ho, is proof that American Idol proceeds to a formula, not according to talent or ability.

I think people are voting for him to make a mockery of the show!
Should have put his sister through, not him - at least she is pretty!
Sanjaya Malakar, 17, is from Federal Way, WA. He auditioned in Seattle with his sister, who was eliminated at the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sanjaya says he started singing as a little boy and had formal singing training.
Sanjaya, who spent four years performing with the Hawaii Children Theater, claims he is a shy person and says "I'm scared that I'll never be able to walk into a supermarket without someone recognizing me." His music idol is Stevie Wonder.

Every teeny bopper in America like the little girl who cried as he "performed" last week votes for him because he is "cute". They don't realize it is a talent contest about singing ability not about looks. I thought he should have been gone before the public started voting. Don't know why the judges allowed him through Hollywood week.

No he should of not made the auditions. If Sanjaya wins Simon quits and we need our butt-hole funny Simon. So everybody that is votining him stop! Listen to the sounds don't pay attention to the looks.

I really dislike the fact that people are calling him gay and saying that they hate him because of his looks, actions, and singing voice.
I think he's a sweet, humble boy. I think he realizes his place on the show. And I think he's got alot of balls to keep getting up on that stage week after week knowing he's there as a joke. He said himself that he knows he's not the best singer. So he does what he can and tries to have fun doing it. If you look at his face every week at eliminations you can tell that he knows he should be going home.
It's not his fault that he's still there... it's the fault of the voters that are trying to overturn the whole basis of American Idol. If you're going to be mad and "hate" someone... "hate" the people that are keeping that poor kid on week after week just to make fun of him.

American Idol is one big fix up. They are just keeping him on the show for laughs. The vots don't actually count

Personally, I hate him!! He has over-grown hair that doesn't look good on him. And why did he have to announce to the world that he could hula dance. I mean, who cares!!!!??? omg i hate him. No offence if you like him. IOt is just my opinion. I guess he is an OK singer but still.
