I listen to plenty of games on the radio as a result of traveling a lot in the evenings and weekends. Thanks to satellite radio for that. If I'm at home or at a bar I'm definitely watching it on TV but when I can't, radio is a great way to stay in touch with the action.

I love listening to a game on the radio. It's a different experience from TV and a different experience from seeing the game in person. Of all plays on the radio, goals are especially interesting because you can't really see them coming, so it's a nice surprise. The game seems faster on radio than on TV because the commercials aren't as intrusive (at least to me). And here in the Pittsburgh area, it's great to listen to Mike Lange call the Pens games on radio with his enthusiasm and character; the radio team here is actually superior to the TV team. (Many people put on the TV, mute it, and tune in to the radio broadcast.) And there's also a call-in show on the radio after the game, unlike TV which usually just goes to unrelated programming.
All in all, I think I like TV the most, but I do enjoy radio broadcasts too.

I listen to about half the Vancouver Pay per view games on the radio. There were more PPV games this year than in the past. The other half I watch. SO tonight I will probably be listening to Vancouver vs Colorado.
I have a Friend who occasionally watches games on TV and listens to the radio broadcast at the same time to get the different points of view.

In Buffalo we have the same person doing the games on TV and radio so I really enjoy listening to Rick Jeanneret as he does the Sabres games
He is ineed one of, if not the best in the hockey announcers around.

Yes, I will be listening to the Canucks game tonight on the radio, because its a pay-per-view game. The radio is still really good, because they do better interviews with GMs and coaches and I like to hear the pregame show and postgame shows. I tried to turn the radio on and watch a game on TSN(because I hate TSN annoucers), but I noticed that TSN delays the game broadcast about 5 seconds so you can't listen to the radio and watch it on TV.

Before I got my "big" dish (some 20+ years ago) I could only pick up the Islander games. Barry Landers & Jean Potvin did the broadcasting. I guess if it wasn't for great announcers I may never have listened. These guys did a great job. Maybe your next question should be "Who are/were the best announcers on radio"?--then we'll ask for TV!!

Not in an area where I pick up the games on the radio. Since Fox Sports didn't renew Lang's contract and he is on the radio now I would still listen the games.

I like to listen to my favorite team, the Sharks, on the NHL Online Radio for I don't get the radio station that brodcasts the Sharks games. I do enjoy it for the Sharks are almost never on Versus, so by listening, I can at least be listening to the game LIVE (thats the most important part for me).

Yeah, i like listening hockey game on the radio. I can imagine the players are better than they realy are. Even Aaron Downey looks like making good plays in the words of Mark McGuire (Montreal announcer).
