My favorite all time artist is probably Merle Haggard.
I never doubt that when he writes a song, he knows what he is speaking about!
From among the rock genres, I have to say Lynyrd Skynryd.
(After 1990) The band reunited and their music is SO MUCH MORE tighter and better, as most of them have gotten off the hard alcohol.
They also have a country music side going in Van Zandt.
(In either genre, they have songs that actually have a message)

I have a favorite in every genre of music. From Sting to the Shins, I have quite a broad taste in music. My yahoo playlists are all over the place. My husband never understands how I can have rock and adult alternative next to country lol ♥
