Your baby’s head engaging
When your baby’s head moves down into your pelvis this is known as the head engaging. This can happen anytime from around 34 weeks to during labour. On average it happens at 37 weeks but some factors can affect when this happens. They are:
A large baby may not move down to the pelvis until contractions start.
If the baby is in a posterior position; when her back is against your back, she may not engage as early.
If you have strong stomach muscles, baby may engage later in pregnancy.
If you have a narrow pelvis it can take your baby longer to engage.
In first pregnancies the head may engage earlier, as subsequent babies tend to drop down near to labour.

yes it usually doesnt engage till ur body goes into labour, sometime its a few wks before. ur pelvis gets stretched after u deliver a baby thats why it can engage then pop back out where as first time preg when its engaged it stays there

In later pregnancies your stomach muscles aren't as firm as they were the first time round so it's easier for the baby to move round.

do not enable them to scare you right into a csection! My final new child did not have interaction and that i did not dilate until eventually i replaced into in lively hard paintings. medical doctors are so into leaping down womens throats approximately csections these days it aint humorous. I instructed my dr while he stated some thing to me approximately it that i might have a csection except i replaced into 2 weeks over due and it replaced right into a existence or loss of life undertaking for myself or new child. attempt doing a sprint exersices that turn the toddler head down. do not enable your dr push you right into a considerable surgical operation as some infants don't have interaction until eventually lively hard paintings

It is quite common to have the first engage earlier. My first dropped almost 4 weeks before she was born, and the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th didn't drop until I actually started labor. This one dropped 3 weeks ago and I'm not sure why...still holding in there and I'm a tight 2 cm and 70 % effaced as of Thursday last week...

i think everything happens quicker in second pregnancies ie feeling the foetus move so it might be that they engage earlier rather than later
