I have checked i have all the right cables int he right holes! I am not really that good with computers and am just learning. If any one has any ideas that would be great. Thanks

Hmm, was there any cd's that came with the speakers? Because that might resolve the problem. Or maybe re-check where you plugged it, you should plug it into the green jack on the back of the computer, and it should have a USB cord to connect or a plug.

There are usually 3 possible output sockets for sound - try the plug in all 3. They should all be next to each other.
If that doesn't work, check the PC's own sound properties to make sure you don;t have the volume levels turned down:
Start menu - control Panel - Sounds & Audio Devices.

Hi, if you have a speaker icon on the bottom task bar( on the right hand side) right click on it and open the volume control.
In the box that opens uncheck any mute boxes and adjust any sliders that are down low. This might help.
