Whenever there's an email to look at through Real Player, I get a message of low computer memory. I know that Real Player is a memory hog, so I checked my computer properties and found that I have 448 mb of Ram. I don't know if my memory really is filled up or not because I don't know where to go from here to find out. So, how do I find out my remaining memory and if I have plenty left, what next. I really do appreciate help from anyone who has the answer as I just can't afford the $75 to $100 the computer jockeys charge.
Thanks

Press andthen click on the performance tab. Below the graphs it shows the amount of memory and what is available. You can do this at anytime, so when you get the low memory message try it.

You may have a lot of applications/processes running in background that are using up memory. You can stop a lot of them at least temporarily. At the bottom right of your screen there are icons that show apps running in background. You can right click them and stop some of them by selecting exit or close. To stop them from loading when you start up your computer you need to delete them from the startup routine. This is done by running msconfig from the start, run command line. you can get more info on that by googling msconfig.
