Think about what you are most passionate about. That will identify a niche. Then I recommend you do a little research with the Business Opportunity Search Engine. Being community driven it’s a cross between a search engine and a Wikipedia. You can add, delete and improve the results for much more focused answers than a general search engine can provide. http://www.BusinessOpportunitySearchEngine.com

Decide what interests you the most. After that, do a little research such as:
1) Are there enough people interested who would buy the product or service? In other words, how big is the demand?
2) What is the competition? Does the competition meet the demand or is there room for you? Also, can you change your product or service so that it gives more value than that of the competition?
3) How much money will it cost to get a business up and running?
4) How will storage, shipping and order processing be handled? Is it possible to outsource them? It is possible to use a drop-shipper?
5) What is the best way to sell? Over the Internet? By mail-order?
This sounds like a lot to do. But it is relatively easy. The best place to get help is from the SBA (Small Business Administration).

Becoming a Mary Kay consultant may be an option. Start up costs are $100 which gives you everything you need to get started plus over $300 in product. You make 1/2 of everything you sell. It is also very rewarding in the fact that you give women an opportunity to pamper and take time for themselves. You help them find a look that makes them feel good about themselves. You can also earn commisions if you choose to recruit a team and you also have the opportunity to earn a free car (lease payment, taxes, license, fees and 87% of car insurance are all paid) Email me for more info.

Well if you are really good at something that is a +
I have had 3 successful home business (and know people who have other venues).
I have done child care - when my kids were really small.
It was very lucrative but time consuming (and hard).
I sold VS lingerie whole sale and had home parties and sold to anyone world wide (flea markets, e-bay or home parties too) I was successful but we moved (from one state to another) and I just didn't feel like importing anymore.
A friend of mine has a successful e-bay business with this.
Lastly I sell swiss skin care. I love it. I was a customer first.
The next part fell in my lap. It's great in many ways.
It's also a great time because they have new products coming out in April and going international. (Europe).
Now all of the above are work and not get rich over night.
But rewarding and lucrative. Ask many questions and investigate. :O)

More than easy
Make most 1000 dollars a week.
Make jumbo chocolate covered strawberries with nuts on a Popsicle stick. At the mall they are 5$ a chocolate covered strawberry, sell 30 a day each one is 2$ and you will make 60$ a day if you sell all of them. And in a week you will make 420$.
and a month 2,520$
a year 30,240$ damn you could by a house. Sell like 60 a day
and in a year 60,480$.
