I don't want to go to school for a long time. PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant) seems like it would be a good job that I'd enjoy and such. Can anyone give me and positive/negatives about the field? Also, will I be able to make a good living being a PTA?

Thanks!

A PTA is a great job for an associate's level degree...it is, and probably always will be, in demand and is rewarding and challenging. PTA's do just about everything PT's do except for assessment and some advanced techniques.

Probably the biggest negative is the early ceiling in your career. You would not be able to promote to management as a PT could, and your salary will max out at a lot lower level as compared to PT. You are also limited as to the types and qualities of certifications you can apply for.
