I think they're jealous, cause a true Texan is cooler than most and they know it.

I don't have anything against Texans... but the state does go a little overboard with the Lone Stars on EVERYTHING. We lived in Denton for a year or so and I remember telling my wife that it was a little redundant that EVERYTHING there has texas in the name somehow. You know, with a state the size of Rhode Island, I could understand every business wanting to put something on their signs that signified the state... I mean, it's a really small state, you would want people to know where they were. But when you cross the Red River... you're going to be in Texas for a long time, even just crossing the panhandle. So why does everything have to have a Lone Star on it. I guess there's nothing wrong with Texans and all being proud, but you gotta admit it is a little much. You even have your own "Texas Edition" trucks and your own variations to popular country songs...

I don't dislike Texans. My friend just moved there last year (we're from California) and she's already saying "y'all" and has a slight Texan accent....very cute!=)

Well, animal rights activists probably aren't too thrilled with the beef production or rodeos. Nature lovers may not be thrilled with the goings on in Galveston, offshore drilling and just the amount of gas it takes to get from point A to point B. The Democrats obviously don't like George W. Bush. Then there is the whole border and illegal immigrant thing...

I think it's because of thier enthusiam for their state. They are extremists like soccor fans, and middle eastern people. Plus they hate the fact that alaska is 2 1/2 times bigger than Texas! They call that some kind of envy.

It could have to do with George Bush, he's from Texas...but honestly it probably has to do with the arrogance factor.
(My husband is from Texas, and he thinks this too.)
People from Texas, think Texas is the best state in the union. (Even though we all know it's California)
Texas can at any time withdraw from the union, and form it's own country.
Texans are particularly proud of their state, and sometimes that is off putting to people.
I think having pride in where you came from is important, but if it's too much, then you are probably coming off as rude.
