Don't lose heart dear. I think it is a timely wake up call for all the higher ups and people concerned to cure themselves. We don't need big names and super stars but we need 11 stars that could shine even if it is very dark. If India have lost to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka then it is not the end of the world. What would you say about Australians who lost to Bangladesh last year and what about South Africa who could not make it to the second round in last world cup? Did we ever take them as weaker opponents? If other teams will take India very easily then they will pay the price because India, actually, paid the price for taking Bangladesh easily.

Well if you thought the Indian Team will be treated as a minnow... You thought wrong.
Cricket is a very funny game, there have been many davids felling down giant Goliaths, this has happened in the past, will happen in the present and will continue to happen in the future.
There are many factors to the first game India played. One of them is the West Indian pitches & grounds. Why isn't anyone talking about the quality of the dubious west indian pitches? How can a game be fair if the pitch behaves one way in the first session and another in the second ? Another factor was the number of matches played to qualify to second round, it i not fair enough to play just a single match against each other to find out who goes forward, I'm not saying this should be the case for the finals, but at least in the preliminary rounds this should have been implemented, this would have eliminated the luck factor from the game.
Also cricket is a game that demands a lot of physical & mental fitness on the day of play. Everyone has been in similar situations before, remember the 1983 world cup? the indians were underdogs and they ousted a Giant to claim the cup.
Victories & Losses are part of the game, this cannot be a measure for a teams greatness and moreover no game can have two winners... what do you say?....

They will not be considered a minor team. This is just one tournament and they performed badly in it....that's it. The calber of the team still remains. They just had a few bad games ...period!
These comments are for ppgsan:
I do not agree that India's poor performance should be blamed on the condition of the West Indian pitches.Even if the pitches were dubious as you said...( for the record I strongly disagree with that statement), all four teams in the group were exposed to it and played on it. So why do you feel that India was disadvantaged?
Secondly, you indicated that India was hindered because of a lack of warm up matches.....well guess what?...they beat West Indies handsomely in one of the matches. This would have given the team a boost in confidence...wouldn't you think?
Please just deal with the fact that your team underperformed when it mattered most and as a result they are out of the tournament.

not at all.MINOR TEAMS NEVER WON WORLD CUPS.Minor team never holds record of highest total runs in an innings of world cup.Minor team never reaches to finals in the world cups.actually india is suffering from poor form. through this defeat india has realised and will try to overcome this defeat in 2011. india is one of the strongest teams and sometimes it happens. this is the first time from the last 4 world cups that india is being eliminated without entering into super eights. u may say bad luck with extremely worst performance but cannot say that india is a minor team. even kenya has also defeated india one time.

Yes, india is badly beaten by the agile and fast bangladeshis. India is no more in the super league, but is only strong enough to compete with minor teams as kenya, bermuda, scotland etc.

Irrespective of India's poor performance in the world cup, I do not think that any country will consider India as a minor team and will take them lightly.

Of course, India will be considered a minor team eventhough we have the best batsmens in the world in our team. Its a shame on Indian players after soo much expectations from them.
