I have a few ideas in several areas , but have no idea of the steps to take as far as getting the ideas into action. I've heard people have made it big with their ideas with no formal training, but how did they get their idea's up and running ?
With no money , no formal training , how is this possible ?
I am thinking of fashion in particular , but have other ideas as well......HELP !!! :-)

Education is the key if experience is lacking so get to your local library for books on business startup, business planning, etc. Yes, you can be successful but passion is the most important quality when money and training are lacking. Show em what you got!!!

My parents and in laws have had very successful family business's. My parents retired- my husbands family has gone on to grow - very very successful - they have a web store on top of the kitchen, appliance, and tile end.

First you need to be educated in the area (this was custom kitchens, tile) both sets of family were artistic, good with people and had a design flair. (ie they knew their stuff).

I work for myself but with the support of the co. Meaning I supply the goods, and knowledge and build a team.

I think you are safer if you know something - have something that you know is "hot".. [supplying things people need and want]
or stick to a franchise - and have a business loan.
Don't be afraid to take risks but you have to work hard.
Passion.

Ask someone who is successful in a similar industry to be your mentor. That's what I did 4 years ago. Cold calling successful business owners.

Attend a business seminar, workshop. A faster way to gain business knowledge.

Read a book. A cheaper way to learn about business.

My husband and I have an online/offline retail business that might work for you. I can't give you details here since it's against the rules of this site but send me an email or check out my profile if you'd like more information.
