They conquered many non-European lands. Anatolia, Mesopotamia for a brief while, The Middle East, Egypt, and North Africa. They had extensive trade connections to India - the Indians exchanged spices for gold, which damaged the Roman economy, and also with China. From China they got silk, but were able to supply trade goods in return - this was a trade the Chinese welcomed until Central Asiatic nomads disrupted the trade routes in the fourth and fifth centuries ( think Huns here ).
Rome was a great Empire and a high civilization and therefore was bound to have some effect on the Eurasian land mass.

Rome controlled most of the known world at its peak. The empire stretched from England almost to India and Northern Africa. Roman culture spread throughout the land by way of traders, soldiers, and colonization. Latin language spread as a way to unite all of the conquered people. Roman coinage was accepted in all parts of the empire as the only true currency. Rome began as a republic founded on the virtuous nature of the upper class Roman citizens, but turned into an empire once it became much more like a dictatorship. This paved the way for absolute monarchies in the future. Paganism, "the religion of Rome", spread throughout the empire as well, coming into conflict with those people with different values (Egyptians, Jews, and later Christians). Roman architecture is found in many cities and towns throughout the empire. Romans built roads to move the massive armies quickly to any place necessary in the empire. Romans built aqueducts outside of the actual city of Rome. Hadrian's wall was built in a Roman fashion in what is known today as England. Again, Rome controlled the known world at the time, so every place it had conquered had Roman influences.
