Today, there is no such thing. All are interdepedentt upon each other. For example, we are hooked on the oil of certain countries. Can you imagine trying to find a cup of coffee if the countries growing it all changed over to growing rubber insead?
Politically, too, none can stand alone for long, without alliances to "cover their backs".
Mass communication is smearing cultures together. Have you heard Congolese rap?

When there is no democracy in the country, bcoz if democracy is there it means you are still slave of British Imperialism.
Britishers set there system in a country and leave some families as their agents. Than they implement their rule by sitting outside by Democracy, Army and intelligence services of the same country.
The Queen of UK, behind the screen, is still ruling all over the world including USA.

On country is truely independant. If a country had all of the natural rescourses needed and could make/produce everything needed only then could they be totally independent. Otherwise you need to import and then you rely on others to meet your needs, and you become dependent on other countrys.
